Arch. Kitai is a Principal in the design and architecture firm of Progetto Cappa / Kitai Architects and Planners Inc. in Tokyo. Arch. Kitai is trained and experienced in both Japanese and Italian design schools, and brings an unique blend of skills to every types of projects including hotels, restaurants, retail spaces, commercial showrooms and facilities, and exclusive residences.
Arch. Kitai graduated with honors in Architecture from Tokai University in Tokyo. In 1980, Arch.Kitai was awarded a Master of Arts degree in Architecture in Florence, Italy-Universita' Studi Di Firenze, then continued to study and worked under the highly respected Professor Leonaldo Savioli.
After working as an assistant at Universita' Degli Studi Di Firenze, Arch. Kitai joined the firm of Progetto Cappa working with architect Paolo Riani and other well known designers and architects. In 1983 Arch. Kitai returned to Japan to establish Tokyo office of Progetto Cappa in Nishiazabu, In 1987, Progetto Cappa / Kitai Architects and planners inc. was finally founded.
In addition to managing design, planning and project supervision, Mr. Kitai is a regular Guest Professorat Tokai University and a design consultant for many companies throughout Asia and Europe.
Arch. Kitai has worked on a wide range of projects such as the foreign bank offices, the galleries, the showrooms, restaurants and retail stores.Moreover the collaboration project, with Aldo Rossi - one of the most famed Italian architects, was appointed to design the headquarter building of Ambiente international in 1990.
He also had a partnership with P.RIANI&ASSOCIATES in Italy.
Arch. Kitai continues to work on architectural design and creative activities with Lapo Binazzi, Stefano Giovannoni, and Marco Tamino.
